About Mexico

In Mexico, AT&T is committed to expanding our reach – starting with deploying our mobile high-speed network to connect to 75 million people nationwide by the end of 2016. And by the end of 2018, our goal is 100 million.

We’re not just investing in our infrastructure either. We’re dedicated to our people and are committed to diversity. This year, we’re expanding Women of AT&T (an employee resource group) to Mexico and are collaborating with universities to recruit more women specializing in science, technology, engineering and math. And our efforts are already paying off. Today in Mexico, women hold 25 percent of our leadership positions – a dramatic increase compared to the 10 percent we started with when AT&T entered the Mexican market just last year.

Thanks to corporate contributions and partnerships with world-class organizations, we’re also helping Mexican students find success in and beyond school. We’re currently working to provide high school students with the learning opportunities to develop job skills and learn about career options.

And with our It Can Wait campaign in Mexico City (Puede Esperar), we’re raising awareness about the risks of texting while driving. The dangers of texting while driving are just as serious in Mexico as they are in the United States. No matter where you live, no text message is worth a life.
